29 April 2009 — The situation continues to evolve rapidly. As of 18:00 GMT, 29 April 2009, nine countries have officially reported 148 cases of swine influenza A/H1N1 infection. The United States Government has reported 91 laboratory confirmed human cases, with one death. Mexico has reported 26 confirmed human cases of infection including seven deaths.
The following countries have reported laboratory confirmed cases with no deaths – Austria (1), Canada (13), Germany (3), Israel (2), New Zealand (3), Spain (4) and the United Kingdom (5).
Further information on the situation will be available on the WHO website on a regular basis.
WHO advises no restriction of regular travel or closure of borders. It is considered prudent for people who are ill to delay international travel and for people developing symptoms following international travel to seek medical attention, in line with guidance from national authorities.
There is also no risk of infection from this virus from consumption of well-cooked pork and pork products. Individuals are advised to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water on a regular basis and should seek medical attention if they develop any symptoms of influenza-like illness.

I think you need to get your head checked. 35-36 thousand people in the US die each year from influenza. Not even one citizen of a first world country has died from this strain.
The point of disease a long time ago was to help control the planets population…now with scientists creating medication to make us live longer…we are becoming over populated. So really it’s all our fault for that…some things like the swine flu and natural disasters happen for a reason…
Well I would say so but it would be interesting to know who received Tamiflu when this swine flu first broke out because there have been reports of people including children who have died, or commited suicide after taking Tamiflu. My son happens to be sick so we brought him to the doctor, and at first they said he has pneumonia. They were quick to prescribe Tamiflu without knowing for sure. He is only 19 pounds, and a year old. Yet the bottle instructions have listed dosage instructions for a child of only 33 pounds. Now why would I give my child this with him being under that weight limit, and the doctor thinking he does not have the flu hmmm.. Then the next day when the test results came back they said he has bronchitis. Of course my husband trusts everything the doctors say, and now I’am stuck with a useless bottle of Tamiflu. My son is now well after using the home breathing machine. If you read the warnings that come with the Tamiflu it does not sound like something I would take let alone my children.
No not at all. The swine flu is not what it is being made out to be over the news. The swine flu is no more harmful then the common Influenza virus. In Mexico, more people died from the regular flu then from the swine flu. The country simply has bad hygiene. In fact, the swine flu did not originate from pigs as many believe. The swine flu is only being called an epidemic because of the lack of a cure, but if you caught it you would go through the same process as you would with the normal flu. Only the already sick, young and old are likely to die from the virus
